FREEZE AND PLANT DAMAGE
Results from the January 2010 freeze may be devastating for SW Florida. All seasonal flowers, bougainvillea, ixora, hibiscus, plumbago just to name a few may not survive. All lawn turf areas will turn brown, but should recover in time. Mid story and taller trees may have the tips turn brown and some may lose all of their foliage, again time will tell the true extent of the damage from this freeze. Do not trim damage plant material; keep the plant whole until the threat of a freeze has passed. After growth returns to the plant material, trimming, spraying and fertilizing may be in order, fungus will be a major concern after this freeze. Call us if you have any question after this January freeze and we will work to return your landscape back to the beautiful “Florida” look.
